U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. --
The Secretary of the Air Force selected the headquarters staff and the 10th Air Base Wing at the Air Force Academy for two high-level awards this week.
The headquarters staff was awarded the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award and the 10th Air Base Wing the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
According to the Air Force Personnel Center’s website, the awards recognize organizational achievements and meritorious service.
“Being recognized at the Air Force level reflects your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the Academy’s mission of developing the nation's best leaders,” said Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, the Academy superintendent. “You set the example, uphold standards of excellence, and live the core values.”
Airmen assigned to the Academy’s headquarters staff or the 10th ABW can visit the military personnel section to have their records updated and wear the appropriate unit award ribbon on their uniforms.
“Thank you for your hard work, commitment to excellence and devotion to duty,” said Chief Master Sgt. Shirley Jones, the command chief of the 10th ABW. “You truly amaze me every day. I am so proud of the outstanding manner in which you take care of our cadets, Airmen and their families.”
