10th MDG takes intramural championship

The 10th Medical Group took the intramural soccer championship June 16 when they beat the 10th Communications Squadron-306th Flying Training Group 6-1 to finished the regular season 8-0.

Mike David, 10th MDG, scored in the first minute of the game off an assist from Govinda Allin. David scored two more goals for the hat trick in the first half.

"Last year, we split the medical [team] into two equal teams and it didn't help us when we played the 10th CS-306th FTG," David said. "This year, we made a decision to go to one team and it made all the difference."

The 10th MDG raised the score five minutes in the second half when Alex Whitcomb found the left side of the goal open for a 4-0 lead. Dan Norton scored the only goal for the 10th CS-306th FTG two minutes later, taking the score to 4-1. David scored his fourth goal of the game with four minutes on the clock. Allin grabbed the final goal off an assist from David for a final score of 6-1.

The 10th CS-306th FTG finished the regular season in second place, 4-3-1.
