The Air Force Academy was awarded an Emmy by the Heartland chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the Community/PSA spot category for the video “What Will You Be?” showcasing the Academy and its cadets.

According to its website, the Heartland Chapter recognizes, “outstanding achievements in the television industry by conferring annual awards of merit as an incentive for achievement within the industry.”

The 30-second video, guided by a section of President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 Air Force Academy commencement speech, encapsulates what it means to be a cadet at the Academy.

“This video is the artful embodiment of our essence as it captures who our cadets are as Airmen, scholars and athletes,” said Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, Academy superintendent. “I am so proud to see it recognized with an Emmy.”

The commercial will air during all of the broadcasted Falcons football games during the 2016-2017 season. To view the video visit
