“‘A Christmas Carol’ is a heartwarming show about family, connection and holiday, but it is ultimately a show about hope,” said Cadet 2nd Class Layla Bohl, Bluebards Cadet in Charge. “Creating art in this way gives all of us hope and we want to share that with our community.”

“The cadets have worked incredibly hard and it's going to be a beautiful production,” said Dr. Marc Napalitano, Bluebards Officer in Charge. “Scrooge’s redemption embodies Dickens’ hope for a better future. The emphasis on charity, mercy, forbearance and benevolence must not be confined to the realm of nostalgic sentimentality. Rather, they must be embraced each and every day and made tangible through acts of love and goodwill.”

The cadet theater club produces shows annually, featuring more than 60 cadet actors and technical crew supported by faculty and community volunteers. The club dates back to the 1960s and enjoys strong cadet, faculty, alumni and community support.

“We are dedicating this production to Cadet Avery Koonce, who we lost in September, because of the hope she consistently provided to her family, friends and community,” said Bohl. “This production is a reflection of the values she embodied, and we hope it inspires others to carry that spirit forward.”
