SENATOR MICHAEL F. BENNET

Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado is a member of the U.S. Air Force Academy's Board of Visitors. As a member of the Board, Bennet inquires into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods and other matters relating to the Academy that the Board decides to consider.

He was elected for a full six-year term as senator in November 2010 after being appointed to the seat previously occupied by Sen. Ken Salazar.

Bennet's previous government experience includes Superintendent of Denver Public Schools from 2005 to 2009 and Chief of Staff to then-Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper from 2003 to 2005. He served as counsel to the U.S. deputy attorney general from 1995 to 1997. His private-sector experience includes Managing Director at Anschultz Investment Company.

Bennet earned his bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., in 1987, and received his law degree from Yale Law School in 1993.
