Flight Mission: The Deployment and Distribution Flight is responsible for the centralized command and control, planning, and execution of all wing and DRU deployment operations and the distribution of cargo, passengers, and personal property. The Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) is the Chief of the Plans & Integration Section (LGRDX). The flight is responsible for the execution of Air & Space Expeditionary Forces (AEF), Management, Unit Type Code (UTC) Management, In-Garrison Expeditionary Site Planning, and Installation Deployment Planning. The flight also oversees operations of the Deployment Control Center (DCC), Reception Control Center (RCC) and the Installation Deployment Readiness Cell (IDRC). The flight manages the wing and DRU's War Reserve Materiel (WRM), Support Agreements and Memorandums of Agreement (MOUs). Additionally, the flight is the single installation transportation authority for planning, managing and executing the movement of personnel as well as the shipment and receipt for DoD cargo during day-to-day and contingency operations.

Distribution (LGRDD) Section Mission: The Distribution Section is responsible for transportation of personnel in support of daily and contingency operations. This section consists of the Vehicle Operations, Vehicle Management, and Vehicle Management & Analysis Elements.

Vehicle Operations Element (LRGDDO): Vehicle Operations is the single source for safe and efficient organic ground transportation of personnel within and between installations and other destinations in support of daily and contingency operations. Additionally, this element is responsible for installation vehicle wash rack operations. Also responsible for ensuring timely execution and efficient use of military taxi, mass transportation, scheduled/unscheduled shuttle, cargo movement and U-Drive-It (UDI) services in support of home-station mission and contingency operations. Receives and validates requests for dispatch support services and vehicles to ensure official use compliance in accordance with established policy. Initiates and monitors suspected vehicle misuse case files.

Vehicle Management Element (LGRDDV): Single authority and source for maintenance and management of the installation's motor vehicle fleet. The Vehicle Management Element is responsible for overall management and maintenance of the wing's vehicle fleet and assign, account for, and maintain vehicle assets so they are safe, efficient and environmentally sound and meet the installation's needs.

Vehicle Management & Analysis (LGRDDVA) ensures the efficient and economical operations of the installation vehicle fleet by scheduling, controlling maintenance production, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis of the On-Line Vehicle Interactive Management System (OLVIMS) products. Also performs fleet management duties and develops local retrievals to obtain specific data for the Vehicle Maintenance Manager production meetings, vehicle buy programs and vehicle control function duties.

Vehicle Maintenance (LGRDDVM) is responsible for the maintenance of special-purpose vehicles, including fire trucks.

 Passenger Movement

Passenger Movement (LGRDA) Section Mission: The Passenger Movement Section manages wing and DRU passenger service operations and provides core transportation expertise to the Installation Deployment Officer. Personnel are responsible for providing official travel services for the movement of DoD passengers. The element consists of passenger service personnel and the Commercial Travel Office (CTO). Key duties include determining official travel entitlements, collecting and submitting high level reports for unused tickets and premium class travel, providing official travel reservations and ticketing services, and performing Quality Assurance Evaluations (QAE) over the CTO. The CTO provides reservations for all modes of travel and includes hotel and rental car reservations for all DoD travelers for official government travel.

Plans & Integration (Deployment) Section Mission: Plans & Integration provides wing and DRU-level management of Air & Space Expeditionary Forces (AEF), Unit Type Codes (UTC), Expeditionary Site Plans, Installation Deployment Plan (IDP), Deployment Training, Deployment Control Center (DCC), Reception Control Center (RCC), and core elements of an Installation Deployment Readiness Cell (IDRC). This section also provides management oversight of the wing and DRU's WRM and Support Agreements. This section also manages the Aerospace Reporting Tool (ART) and the Academy Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning Execution System (DCAPES) operations. The USAFA Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) is the Section Chief for this area.
