Mission

Provide spiritual care and ensure all Airmen and their families have opportunities to exercise their constitutional right to the free exercise of religion.

Advise Leadership:  inform Air Force leaders on matters related to religious, spiritual, ethical, moral and morale concerns and advocate for the religious and spiritual needs of Airmen and their families.

Spiritual Care:  meeting the diverse spiritual needs of Airmen and their families.

USAF Academy Religious Respect Training Program

The Religious Respect Training Program is a United States Air Force Academy program preparing the USAF Academy cadets, cadet candidates, civilian personnel, faculty, and assigned active duty personnel to support the free exercise of religion and practice religious respect.



Religious Support Teams (RSTs)

The Air Force Chaplain Corps is a highly diversified, multicultural and multidenominational community focused on the free exercise of religion for Airmen, their families, and other authorized personnel. Our ranks include officer, enlisted and civilian personnel working at the tactical, operational and strategic levels.

Religious Support Teams (RSTs) consist of a chaplain and a chaplain assistant who focus on caring for warriors and their families. 


Privileged Communication

Privileged communication is protected communication IAW Military Rule of Evidence 503. Under this rule, “a person has a privilege to refuse to disclose and to prevent another from disclosing a confidential communication by the person to a clergyman (Chaplain) or to a clergyman’s assistant (Chaplain Assistant), if such communication is made either as a formal act of religion or as a matter of conscience.”
